Write a 60th birthday message that celebrates the recipient’s interests and relationships without assuming retirement or a particular family life.

## Celebrate their plans, not your assumptions

A 60th birthday does not tell you whether someone plans to retire, travel, look after grandchildren, or start something new. Use what you know about the person instead of treating the number as a life plan.

If you want to thank them, choose a concrete example of their care or influence. An old memory can work especially well when you connect it to something you still do because of them.

For a recipient who enjoys humor, use a shared joke rather than a joke about decline. The card should feel like a celebration, not a reminder of everything people assume changes with age.

## Messages you can adapt

- Happy 60th. I hope this year has room for the walks, books, and visits you enjoy.

- You taught me to make time for people. I still think of that every time we sit down for a long lunch.

- Sixty, and still coming up with better plans than the rest of us.

- Happy birthday. Your next adventure deserves a date in the calendar.

- Thank you for the kindness you have made such a regular part of our lives.

- Here is to a birthday that feels like you, with the people you want around the table.

## Make the wording sound like you

If the recipient is organizing a celebration, mention what you are looking forward to. If they want a quiet day, respect that in the wording and the design. A big age does not require a loud card.

## Put it on a HoorayTime card

In HoorayTime, choose Birthday, an available style that suits their taste and their preferred name. Enter 60 if they want that detail visible. Age-focused portrait styles require the number; if they do not want it shown, avoid those styles and choose an illustrated card. For a portrait, use a photo they agree to have used for generation. New artwork requires Pro, an available spark and internet access.

Keep the greeting short enough to read clearly in the exported image. Inspect the portrait and any age numerals, then adjust the wording, font, color and placement. Hiding editable text does not remove numerals embedded in generated artwork. Export the image, save it to Photos or share it yourself through your device’s share menu. HoorayTime does not send the card automatically.

## Before you send it

Confirm the age rather than relying on a remembered birth year. Ask before sharing the card publicly, especially when it includes a face and a birthday number. Read the name and greeting once more.
